Family Documents
This is a collection of documents and information our little branch of the Fassett clan has concerning our ancestors.
In a (possibly futile) attempt to place the documents in context, I will list them by family name (within a given line) going back from my parent's generation.  This includes Charles and Ethel Fassett and Willis and Betty Jo Fassett.
I will attempt to add relevant information or make corrections as I go along.

Right now, I have very few documents in my possession but will try to get my hands on more.

Ethel Marian McClelland Fassett (Mrs. Charles Herschel Fassett) Line:

Lock of Ethel's Hair from when she was 2 1/2 years old
This was found in a little leather coin purse in the box holding Verna's papers.  Verna was Ethel's mother.  It has a note with it saying it is a "Curl from Ethel's head 2 1/2 yrs old."  That would be sometime in 1926.

Marriage License for Verna Murea McClelland (Miss Marie Clarke) and James A. McClelland
The marriage license lists Verna's name as Miss Marie Clark.  This is the name she went by and usually used on "informal" papers--she went by Marie (McClelland) after she was married as well.  Her legal name was Verna Murea (Clark) McClelland.  James and Verna were Ethel's biological parents.

Envelope Holding Divorce Decree for James A. McClelland and Verna Murea McClelland
This is envelope sent to Verna Murea McClelland from Wenatchee, Washington containing the certified copy of the court papers for the divorce.  Interestingly, she kept Ethel's birth certificate in this envelope and not the divorce papers.

Receipt for copy of Divorce Decree for James A. McClelland and Verna Murea McClelland
This is a receipt from the court in Washington showing Verna paid to have a certified copy of the divorce papers sent to her in Toledo, OH.  It was in the envelope with the court papers.

Divorce Decree for James A. McClelland and Verna Murea McClelland
The is a copy of the court document detailing the interlocutory divorce granted to James A. McClelland.  It states that Murea (Verna) was not present for the proceedings.

Notice of Divorce Decree for Verna Murea McClelland and James A. McClelland
The document was sent to Verna after the divorce was official.  It shows two different names for Verna--neither of them include Verna, her legal first name.  It is addressed to Mrs. Mura McClelland but in the text lists her as Murea McClelland.  Both are incorrect.

Abner Mason Clark Military Papers Envelope
This is envelope holding all of Abner's Military paperwork as well as his marriage certificate.  It has Mrs. M. A Clark written on it and A. M. Clark stamped on it.  I assume the M.A. is Matilda and A.M. is Abner but have not yet verified this.

Abner Mason Clark? Application for membership to the Ohio GAR Post 14
This is probably not Abner's application unless he got his dates and service info wrong on the unfinished application.  Unfortunately, it was found in the same envelope as Abner's enlistment, discharge and pension papers.  I am trying to figure out who this would pertain to based on the limited information given.

Note by (or about) A. M. Clark relating to family members and dates of birth
Found in the envelope holding all of Abner's Military paperwork as well as his marriage certificate.  It has A. M Clark written on the outside of it.  I assume this is Abner but have not yet verified this.
